Danny Kay Crothers was born on 15 September 1948.

On 13 February 1969, Lance Corporal Danny Kay Crothers was serving with B Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, in Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, Lance Corporal Crothers was killed in action when he sustained wounds from artillery, rocket or mortar fire. His body was recovered.
