Sterling Edward Cox

First Lieutenant, U.S. Army

Sterling Edward Cox was born on 27 March 1941.

On 15 January 1969, First Lieutenant Sterling Edward Cox was serving with C Troop, 7th Squadron, 17th Cavalry, 1st Aviation Brigade, in Pleiku Province, South Vietnam. He was serving his second tour in Vietnam.

On that date, 1LT Cox was killed in the crash of the helicopter in which he was a crew member. His body was recovered.
