Juctin Richard Patrick McDaniel was born in Laconia, NH, the son of Timothy R. and Janine M. McDaniel. Juctin attended Andover Elementary Middle School and graduated from Merrimack Valley High School in 2006.

He joined the Army Reserve when he was seventeen and completed his basic training in the summer between his junior and senior year of high school. Juctin joined the Regular Army in November 2006 and was assigned in April 2007 to the 524th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 45th Sustainment Brigade, 8th Theater Sustainment Command at Schofield Barracks, Fort Shafter, HI.

In November 2007, he was deployed to Iraq with the 536th Maintenance Company for a 15-month tour as a repairer of power generation equipment.

PFC McDaniel died on Monday, 17 December 2007 in Baghdad, Iraq, after he sustained injuries in what is being called a non-combat related incident in Taji, Iraq. According to the Pentagon, the circumstances of the incident are under investigation.

Private First Class Juctin Richard Patrick McDaniel is buried at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, Merrimack County, NH, in Section H13R, Row B, Site 4.
