Thomas R. Potts was a character actor whose stage name was Richard R. Fiske. Best known for his appearances in several Three Stooges shorts, most notably as the hot-tempered drill sergeant in "Boobs In Arms." Potts served in the U.S. Army and was killed in action during World War II. At the time of his death he was serving as a First Lieutenant with the 9th Infantry, 2nd Infantry Division. His medals and awards (awarded posthumously) include the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, and other honors. Burial First Lieutenant Thomas R. Potts is buried at Brittany American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint-James, Departement de la Manche, Basse-Normandie, France in Plot J, Row 1, Grave 9. |
