Joseph Carmen Cerrone, Jr. was born on 3 January 1948.

On 18 August 1968, Sergeant Joseph Carmen Cerrone, Jr. was serving with CAP Hotel 10 (Lang Co), 3rd CAG, Combined Action, 3rd MAF in Thua Thien Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, Sergeant Cerrone was killed in action when he sustained wounds from artillery, rocket or mortar fire. His body was recovered.
