Barrett Chamberland Brown was born on 19 October 1948.
On 22 August 1969, Warrant Officer 1 Barrett Chamberland Brown was serving with 213th Assault Support Helicopter Company, 11th Aviation Battalion, 7th Cavalry, 12th Aviation Group, 1st Aviation Brigade, in Binh Long Province, South Vietnam.
On that day, WO1 Brown was killed in a non-hostile related crash of the helicopter he was flying when a sling-loaded Air Force O-1E flew up into aft rotor during left turn causing crash and burn. His body was recovered.
