On 2 December 1966, Specialist Four Lee Joseph Boudreaux, Jr. was serving with 281st Assault Helicopter Company, 10th Aviation Battalion, 17th Aviation Group, 1st Aviation Brigade, in South Vietnam.

On that day, SP4 Boudreaux was killed in action when the helicopter in which he was a crew member was shot down. He was first listed as Missing and then the status was changed to Died While Missing. His body was recovered.
