Jeffrey Lee Beard was born on 29 October 1949 in Fremont, OH.

On 5 October 1968, PFC Jeffrey Lee Beard was serving with 39th Engineer Battalion, 45th Engineer Group, 18th Engineer Brigade in Quang Tin Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, PFC Beard was killed in action by misadventure. His body was recovered.
