Michael Allen Beals was born on 24 September 1947 in Lapeer, MI.

On 15 July 1968, SP4 Michael Allen Beals was serving as an armor reconnaissance specialist with B Troop, 7th Squadron, 1st Cavalry, 1st Aviation Brigade in Gia Dinh Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, the helicopter on which he was flying crashed and SP4 Beals was killed. His body was recovered on 17 July 1968. He received a posthumous promotion to Sergeant.
