Robert C. Baxter

Lieutenant (Junior Grade), U.S. Navy

Robert C. Baxter was born in 1929. He was the son of the late Charles E. Baxter and Emma R. (Baxter) Poeter of Rumson, NJ.

Following his graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1951, Baxter was assigned to Attack Squadron, aboard the carriers USS Hornet and USS Bennington.

Death and Burial

Robert Baxter died on 14 August 2010 and is buried in the U.S. Naval Academy Cemetery in Annapolis, MD.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria J. Baxter, of Arlington Heights, IL; and five children of a previous marriage: Richard W. Baxter, Bruce E. Baxter, Stephen G. Baxter, Robert C. Baxter, and Rebecca Baxter-Foard; and three step-children, Janine G. Smulyan, Charmaine Luber, Richard G. Ginger; and 11 grandchildren.
