Timothy Harold Artman Timothy Harold Artman was born on 13 August 1944 in Hialeah, Miami-Dade County, FL. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on 27 December 1965. On 8 January 1968, then-Warrant Officer Timothy H. Artman was serving with the 173rd Assault Helicopter Company, 11th Combat Aviation Battalion, 1st Aviation Brigade in Long An, South Vietnam. The helicopter in which Warrant Officer Artman was aircraft commander that day, was hit by hostile ground fire and crashed. Initially reported as Missing, his body was recovered on 14 January 1968. Artman was posthumously promoted to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2. Medals, Awards and Badges Distinguished Flying Cross Honors The name Timothy H Artman is inscribed on Panel 33E Line 78 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. Death Chief Warrant Officer 2 Timothy Harold Artman died on 8 January 1968.
