David Bruce Arnott

Private First Class, U.S. Marine Corps

David Bruce Arnott was born on 16 July 1949 in Syracuse, NY, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James O. Arnott. In 1961, he and his family moved to Liverpool, NY.

A 1967 graduate of Liverpool High School, David attended Edinboro State College, PA. He was a member of the Balmoral Highland Pipe Band. David was affiliated with Liverpool Methodist Church and the Methodist Youth Fellowship.

David entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1968 and began his tour in South Vietnam on 16 February 1969.

On 19 March 1969, PFC David Bruce Arnott was serving as a rifleman with D Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division in Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam.

PFC Arnott was killed in action that day when he sustained wounds from artillery, rocket, or mortar fire.

Death and Burial
