Edward Patrick Appert

Edward Patrick Appert was born on 5 March 1923 in Brooklyn, NY, one of five children in the family. The family moved to New Jersey, where Edward graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1941.
Appert graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, Class of 1947, as a Naval Engineer and served his country for 31 years. After retirement from the Navy, he worked as a Senior Advisor of Naval Engineering to the Iranian and Saudi Arabian Navy's for many years.
Death and Burial
Captain Edward Patrick Appert, USN (Ret.), died at home in Fairfax, VA, on 26 December 2009. Bette Appert, confidant, supporter, mother, and his wife of 56 years, passed on 19 March 2006.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence and Thomas; and a sister, Mary. He is survived by brother, Paul "Doc" and his wife, Teresa Appert. Edward is also survived by his two sons, Brian and Bruce Appert and their families; along with nephews and nieces and their families.
