Bronze Star Medal Citation

Colonel Carroll H. DEITRICK (ASN O-14796), Ordnance Department, United States Army, for meritorious service in connection with military operations, as Chief, Ammunition Supply Division, Office of the Chief Ordnance Officer, European Theater of Operations, from 2 November 1944 to 7 May 1945. Colonel Deitrick was instrumental in determining Armies' needs for certain types of artillery ammunition, presenting these needs to the War Department, assisting in securing expedited shipments thereof from the United States production lines to the European Theater, and in establishing a system to provide Theater headquarters and Army Group with periodic information enabling them to gear tactical offensive operations to the available supply of ammunition with certainty and maximum effectiveness. Colonel Deitrick's accomplishments reflect high credit upon himself and the armed forces of the United States. Entered military service from Pennsylvania.
