John S. Sappington John S. Sappington was born on 3 September 1750 in Anne Arundel County, MD. Sappington served with General George Washington at Valley Forge. He later settled near Lexington, KY, with Daniel Boone. He purchased a Spanish land grant and raised 17 children on the 1,920 Missouri acres. Death and Burial John S. Sappington died on 10 August 1815 in Crestwood, MO. He is buried at Sappington Cemetery in Crestwood, MO. This cemetery was originally known as Long Cemetery. Judge John Long, a soldier in the Revolutionary War, is also buried here. His son married one of the 17 children of John Sappington. |
