Richard Curtis Moore Richard Curtis Moore was born on 24 November 1880. His military career began upon graduation from the U.S. Military Academy in 1903 when he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Corps of Engineers. After serving on the General Staff in Europe during World War I, he was promoted to Brigadier General. During World War II, he served as the G-4 Supply Commanding Officer in charge of transportation, traffic and Army property. After the war, he was promoted to Major General and commanded combat engineers and headed up the Atlantic Sector of the Canal Zone. Death and Burial Major General Richard Curtis Moore died on 21 August 1966. He is buried at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery in Fort Leavenworth, KS. |
