Annie Etheridge Hooks Annie Etheridge Hooks was born on 3 May 1839 in Detroit, MI. Hooks, also known as "Gentle Annie" was an Army Nurse during the Civil War. She was at the Battle of First Bull Run, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville and a number of other major battles. Annie was awarded the Kearny Cross for bravery. Death and Burial Annie Etheridge Hooks died on 23 January 1913 in Georgetown Village, VA. She is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. |
