John T. Godfrey John T. Godfrey was born in 1922. Godfrey was a WWII Flying Ace of the 4th Fighter Group with 18 victories in the air and 18 victories on the ground. Godfrey was the wingman of the famous Captain Dominic Salvatore Gentile, a Rhode Island politician and businessman. Death and Burial Major John T. Godfrey died of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) on 12 June 1958. He is buried at Maple Root Cemetery in Coventry, RI. |
