SSGT WILLIAM NEIL FLINT,
William was, born in Naples, Florida on June 12, 1947. He grew up there along with his four siblings. He was a typical South Florida boy who loved to gator hunt and ride in swamp buggies. He had invited many of his brothers to visit and enjoy these things when they got home.
After graduating from high school in 1966, he was, drafted into the Army, and began his tour of duty in Vietnam on April 18, 1967. His unit was D CO, 1ST BN, 1ST Infantry, 196 INF BDE. He was wounded three times and offered a trip home, but he wanted to stay giving his life for our Country on February 9, 1968, at Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam.
He was promoted posthumously and received Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense, Vietnam Campaign, Vietnam Service w/3 Bronze Stars, medals, and Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation.
