Arthur James Elliot II United States Navy Lieutenant Commander who served as commanding officer of River Patrol Flotilla 5 during the Vietnam War. He was killed in action on December 29, 1968 in Gò Công, Vietnam while leading his squadron on a riverine interdiction mission. He is the namesake of the Spruance-class destroyer USS Elliot (DD-967). |
