Leonard Covington
Brigadier General, U.S. Army

Leonard Covington was born on 30 October 1768 in Aquasco, MD.

Covington served as a U.S. Congressman from Maryland during 1805-07.

Covington served in the Northwest Indian War under General Anthony Wayne, where he distinguished himself at Fort Recovery and the Battle of Fallen Timbers. As a Brigadier General, he also fought in the War of 1812 and was mortally wounded in the Battle of Crysler's Farm. He died three days later at French's Mills, NY.
