LaVerne Pennah
Staff Sergeant, U.S. Army

LaVerne Pennah was born on 1 May 1932, the son of Jane Pennah. He attended Fort Sill Indian School, but entered the U.S. Army before graduating. While serving in Korea, he received his G.E.D.

Post-Military Life

After leaving the Army he worked as an electrician at the U.S.P.H.S. Indian Hospital, Riverside Indian School, and in area towns. He and Rosalie were married on 27 December 1983 in Lawton. He was a member of the Comanche Reformed Church, Comanche Indian Veterans Association, and the Fort Sill Indian Alumni.

Death and Burial

Staff Sergeant LaVerne Pennah died on 8 March 2003. He is buried at Highland Cemetery in Lawton, OK, in the Indian Section.
