Private Wilson was a member of Company B, 1st Battalion, 160th Infantry Regiment, 40th Infantry Division. He died of other causes on 28 June 1953 at Samgo-ri, Koje-do, South Korea.

Wilson was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
