Christopher Blake Rodgers was born on 4 May 1990 in Griffin, GA, to Chris and Jane Rodgers. He graduated from Spalding High School in 2008, where he spent all four years in the Junior Reserve Officer's Training Corps program. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in October 2008.

After joining the Marines, he was assigned to 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, NC. Christopher died while conducting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

Death and Burial

Lance Corporal Christopher B. Rodgers died on 1 September 2010 during Operation Enduring Freedom combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. He is buried at Westwood Gardens in Griffin, Spalding County, GA.

He is survived by his father Chris, mother Jane, and sister Emily.
