Biography:

Private First Class Gebhardt was a Medical Aidman with the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. While tending his wounded comrades, he was seriously wounded by the enemy in North Korea on 25 October 1951 and died of those wounds the following day.

Gebhardt was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Medical Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
