Telesforo "Ted" Gallegos Telesforo "Ted" Gallegos was born on 13 November 1919. Ted was a medic in the Army's 10th Mountain Division, Special Ops, based out of Colorado in World War II. Medals and Awards Silver Star Medal Post-War Life After the war, Ted and his wife, Martha, had an only son, John. John followed in his dad's footsteps and joined the Army during Vietnam while only in 10th grade. John was a Helicopter Mechanic and his chopper was named 'Susie.' When not serving as a mechanic, he was a door gunner. The family lived throughout the mountains in Colorado as Ted became a miner and a logger. After Ted died on Mother's Day in 1982, Martha moved in with John and his family in California where she stayed until passing in 2008. Death and Burial Telesforo "Ted" Gallegos died on 9 May 1982 (Mother's Day). He is buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO, in Lot S, 5386. His wife, Martha, is buried next to him. & |
