Berrie Henry Jarrett Gunners Mate 1st Class, U.S. Navy Medal of Honor Recipient Occupation of Veracruz Gunners Mate 1st Class Berrie Henry Jarrett (10 June 1894 - 14 August 1927) was a U.S. Navy sailor who received the U.S. military's highest award for valor, the Medal of Honor, for his heroic actions during the Occupation of Veracruz. Medal of Honor Rank and organization: Seaman, U.S. Navy Citation: On board the U.S.S. Florida Jarrett displayed extraordinary heroism in the line of his profession during the seizure of Vera Cruz, Mexico, 21 April 1914. Death and Burial Gunners Mate 1st Class died on 14 August 1927. He is buried at Lorraine Park Cemetery in Woodlawn, MD. |
