On 31 October 1969, Specialist Four Lawrence Michael Dart was serving with C Company, 65th Engineers, 25th Infantry Division, in Hau Nghia Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, SP4 Dart sustained wounds from and explosive device. He died of those wounds on 7 November 1969.
