Jay Thomas Dandurand was born on 11 November 1948.

On 12 March 1970, Warrant Officer Jay Thomas Dandurand was serving with the 128th Assault Helicopter Company, 11th Aviation Battalion, 12th Aviation Group, 1st Aviation Brigade, in Phuoc Tuy Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, WO Dandurand died of other causes in the crash of the helicopter in which he was a crew member.
