Terry Walker Clifton was born on 30 December 1948.

On 20 November 1968, Specialist Four Terry Walker Clifton was serving with F Company, 58th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, in Thua Thien Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, SP4 Clifton was killed in action when he sustained wounds from small arms fire. His body was recovered.
