Biography:

In June 1944, PFC Hubert B. Ford was serving as a Light Machine Gunner with Company C, 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment in Italy. After action in Italy, the 517th PIR fought in France.

Upon leaving France, the 517th PIR was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division during the Battle of the Bulge. It was in the Battle of the Bulge that PFC Hubert B. Ford was Killed in Action on 14 January 1945 by sniper fire from houses in the village of Logbierme, Belgium. The famous Battle terminated on 25 January 1945.
