Robert Henry Prause Jr.
Lieutenant, United States Coast Guard
United States Coast Guard lieutenant and executive officer of USCGC Escanaba (WPG-77) when she was sunk by a mine off the coast of Greenland on June 13, 1943. He was the only casualty to be recovered. In 1942, he saved the life of a passenger of the steamer Cherokee after she was attacked by a German U-boat. For this action he was awarded the Navy-Marine Corps Medal.
