Jerry Junior Chapman was born on 25 January 1946.

On 20 April 1968, Sergeant Jerry Junior Chapman was serving with K Company, 3rd Battalion, 27th Marines, 1st Marine Division, in Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, Sgt Chapman was killed in action when he sustained wounds from an explosive device. His body was recovered.
