John Joseph Burke

John Joseph Burke was born on 28 July 1943. He graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1965 with a ROTC commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps on 28 May 1965 at Worcester, MA.
On 5 February 1968, now-Captain John Joseph Burke was serving with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 364 (HMM-364), Marine Aircraft Group 36 (MAG-36), 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, in Thua Thien Province, South Vietnam.
On that day, Capt Burke was killed in the crash of a helicopter in which he was a crew member. His body was recovered.
