Edward Lee Brown was born on 3 August 1947.

On 2 July 1967, Specialist Four Edward Lee Brown was serving with D Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division, in Binh Dinh Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, SP4 Brown was killed in action when he sustained multiple fragmentation wounds. His body was recovered.
