Joseph Michael Bowman

Specialist Four, U.S. Army

Joseph Michael Bowman was born on 8 October 1947.

Joseph Michael Bowman was the son of Francis H. and Lillian R. Bowman. He had one brother and two sisters. Joe graduated from York Catholic where he played football. He enjoyed model trains and drag racing.

Joe was drafted on 9 May 1967; then he enlisted and volunteered for duty in Vietnam.

On 31 October 1968, Specialist Four Joseph Michael Bowman was serving in A Company, 54th Signal Battalion, I Field Force, in Nha Trang Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, SP4 Bowman was killed when the helicopter, of which he was the door gunner, crashed in Khanh Hoa Province. He died from his wounds and his body was recovered.
