On 24 May 1971, Sergeant Robert Keith Blosser was serving with B Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry, 196th Infantry Brigade, Americal Division, in Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, Sergeant Blosser was killed in action when he sustained wounds from an explosive device.
