John Henry Beauchamp, Jr.

John Henry Beauchamp, Jr. was born on 26 March 1946 in Princess Anne, MD.

On 16 March 1966, Corporal John Henry Beauchamp, Jr. was serving with B Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade in Binh Duong Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, Corporal Beauchamp was killed in action by small arms fire that resulted in gunshot wounds to the chest and right side. His body was recovered.

Beauchamp received a posthumous promotion to the grade of permanent Corporal, effective 15 March 1966.

CPL Beauchamp was also posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal with "V" designating heroism above and beyond the call of duty on the day of his death.
