On 6 September 1965, LCPL Michael T. Badsing was serving as a rifleman with C Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division in Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam. LCPL Badsing was killed in action that day when he sustained wounds from small arms fire.
