Johnny Arthur was born on 6 September 1949 in Fruitland, NM.

On 10 June 1971, Specialist 5 Johnny Arthur was serving with the 192nd Assault Helicopter Company, 10th Aviation Battalion, 17th Aviation Group, 1st Aviation Brigade in Pleiku Province, South Vietnam.

SP5 Arnott was killed that day when the helicopter in which he was a crew member, crashed.
