CITATION:
The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross (Posthumously) to Captain (Infantry) Ira C. Ogden, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with 141st Infantry Regiment, 36th Division, A.E.F., near St. Etienne, France, October 9 - 10, 1918.
Due to casualties among field officers, Captain Ogden was placed in command of the support line.
