John Pearson
Brigadier General, South Carolina Militia

John Pearson was born on 30 May 1743.

During the American Revolution, he served as militia Major under Thomas Sumter. After the war, he was elected as Brigadier General of the South Carolina Eight Brigade in 1800. Pearson was elected to South Carolina House of Representatives and later the Senate.

Death and Burial

Brigadier General John Pearson died on 25 October 1819. He is buried at the Pearson Memorial Site in Parr, SC.
