Lauren Paul Wirkus

Lauren Paul Wirkus was born on 30 August 1895 in Minto, ND, the son of Julius and Mary Pelowski Wirkus.

On 10 October 1918, then-Private Lauren Paul Wirkus was serving with the 5th Field Signal Battalion, 3rd Division, U.S. Army, American Expeditionary Force. On that day, PVT Wirkus’ unit was in action against German forces in France when he was killed in action.
