Biography:

PFC GEORGE DANIEL THEISEN

George was born on September 23, 1946. The family relocated to Fort Myers Beach in 1959 from the east coast of Florida. He attended St Francis Xavier Elementary, Fort Myers Junior High and graduated from Fort Myers High School in the Class of 1965. He was a fine artist and loved to fish. With his good looks, he made friends easily, especially with the girls.

He joined the Marine Corps, on January 5, 1966, and did Basic Training at Parris Island, South Carolina. After Bootcamp he was sent to Vietnam, and was stationed with E BTRY, 2ND BN, 11TH MARINES, 1ST MARDIV, III MAF. On December 13, 1966, he gave his life for his country in Quang Nam Province, Vietnam

He received a French Fourragere, Purple Heart, Combat Action, Naval Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense, Vietnam Service w/2 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, and Vietnam Campaign, Medals.

The VFW Post 10097 of Fort Myers Beach is named in his honor.
