USMA Class of 1961. Cullum # 23306. Armor Officer. Airborne-Ranger. Served in USAREUR, West Germany, on the border in the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, 1962-65. In preparation for overseas combat service in Southeast Asia, he attended an Intelligence Course at Fort Holabird, MD and the Defense Language Institute, Presidio of Monterey, CA. Arrived in South Vietnam on 16 April 1965 and assigned to MACV as an Advisor in unit SD-5891. He died in a battle on 28 May 1965. He posthumously received the Bronze Star Medal with "V" for Valor and the Purple Heart. His final resting place is Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown, PA. |
