Biography:

SGT THOMAS VICTOR PILSON

Tom was born on August 29, 1942, to Louise Elder in Grafton, West Virginia. He had two half sisters, Susie and Bitsy, and a half brother, Billy Ed. Young Tom was, raised by Beryl McBee, in West Virginia. In the late 60’s he lived with his uncle’s family, Warren R. Pilson, both in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, and Naples, Florida. His uncle Warren had three younger daughters, Sandy, Vicky, and Debby who all considered him an older brother.

He joined the Army and his tour started in Vietnam on August 25, 1968 with HHT, 2ND SQDN, 11TH ARMORED CAVALRY.

On February 26, 1969, he gave his life for our Country in Binh Duong Province, South Vietnam.

His awards included Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Army Good Conduct w/2 Knots, National Defense, Vietnam Service w/2 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, and Armor Shoulder Cord.
