William Alexander Pedersen is the son of Thorwald Boe and Zulmira Limas Pedersen.

On 15 September 1970, Lieutenant (Junior Grade) William Alexander Pedersen was serving with HA(L)-3, TF 116, U.S. Naval Forces Vietnam, in An Xugen Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, LTJG Pedersen was killed in action in the crash of the helicopter (due to hostile action) in which he was a pilot. His body was recovered.
