Juan was born on June 24, 1942, to Mr. & Mrs. Juan Ortiz in Puerto Rico. What little information was provided by Nivia Ortiz your niece and Uncle Salvador Ortiz-Rivera.
The Wall of Faces is now only missing 1 Face of PVT E-2 Juan Ortiz-Rivera. He died from Injuries Received while a passenger on a military vehicle on a convoy mission when the vehicle ran off the road, overturned and pinned him underneath on 12/28/1967 in Bac Lieu Province South Vietnam. MOS 52B20 Power Generation Equipment Operator/Mechanic. He was survived by his wife Daisy V Rosario-Ortiz of Santa Juanita Puerto Rico and his parents Mr. & Mrs. Juan Ortiz of Bayamon Puerto Rico.
He was awarded an Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/Bronze Star, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Rifle Sharpshooter Marksman Badge.
He is buried in Puerto Rico National Cemetery,
