PFC WILLIE JAMES MOORE
“Willie” was, born on November 15, 1943 in Fort Myers, Florida. He grew up on Blount Street, with three brothers and one sister.
He was, drafted into the U.S. Army and at the time he went to Vietnam, he lived in Bridgeport, Connecticut, with his wife Josephine, and two children. He volunteered for a second tour so that his younger brother did not have to go to Vietnam.
His tour started on, October 13, 1966 and on June 8, 1967, gave his life for our Country in Quang Ngai Province, South Vietnam. He served with Co C, 2nd BN, 327 Infantry, 101st ABN DIV.
He received a Combat Infantry Badge, a Purple Heart Medal, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service w/ Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation Medal.
