PFC THOMAS LEE MCGEE
Tom was, born in Fort Myers, Florida, on August 13, 1943, to Gordon McGee and Marian Julia Hanson. He grew up in an active home with 3 brothers, Tim, Todd and Ted. They were active at First Methodist Church in Fort Myers, as well as, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.
He attended school in Fort Myers and graduated from Ft Myers High School in the class of 1962.
He joined the Marine Corps and was sent to Vietnam while serving with M CO, 3RD BN, 5th Marines, 1st MARDIV, III MAF as a Rifleman.
On March 11, 1967, he gave his life for our country in a battle in Quang Ngai Province, South Vietnam.
He was, awarded a Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense, Vietnam Service w/Bronze Star, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, Vietnam Civil Actions Unit Citation and Vietnam Campaign Medals.
